Terms and Conditions for the Consignment Sale of Second-Hand Books

1. Signing of this document warrants that the owner of the second-hand books acknowledges and understands the full terms and conditions governing this transaction.
2. The owner of the second-hand book confirms that he is the lawful owner of the second-hand book.
3. The owner of the second-hand books agrees to hand over the book on a consignment basis to Bookmark at UP (Pty) Ltd to allow for the book to be sold at Bookmark to a third party.
4. The owner and Bookmark at UP (Pty) Ltd acknowledge that the cost price negotiated between the parties will remain binding on signature of this document.
5. The cost prices as indicated on this document will be considered the full and final price payable to the owner of the second book upon the sale of the book to a third party.
6. Bookmark reserves the right to sell the book to a third party at any price that Bookmark determines provided it is above the cost price.
7. The owner of the second-hand textbook agrees to leave the second-hand book with Bookmark at UP (Pty) Ltd for a minimum period of six months which shall constitutes sufficient time for Bookmark at UP (Pty) Ltd to attempt to sell the book to a third party.
8. Any second-hand books not sold within six months will be returned to the lawful owner. The owner will be sent an SMS or e-mail informing them that the books must be collected.
9. Failure to collect the book with thirty days of the SMS or email being sent out, will result in storage charges being levied at R1.00 per day.
